ITANAGAR, Mar 9: The Lower E-sector, Forest Colony Welfare Committee (LE-SFCWC) has strongly opposed the installation of the 33/11 KV transformer at IG park central power house near the private residence area of Lower E-sector Forest Colony claiming it to be highly unsafe.
The Committee in a release on Friday, informed that the Chief Engineer (E), Western zone had earlier directed to the Superintending Engineer and Executive Engineer (E) for shifting the project site to a suitable place away from public residence. “Despite people’s opposition, the Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner issued an order directing resumption of construction work with the help of police force”, the forum claimed adding that there is no sufficient area to construct such huge project within the heart of the capital city.
It has further threatened to resort to democratic action in case its demand is not fulfilled soon.
