GENSI, Mar 11: The office of the Deputy Director of School Education (DDSE), Lower Siang organized an awareness meeting on Aadhaar enrolment and opening of bank account, which has been made mandatory for students by the Ministry of Human Resource Development.
The officials of the DDSE office explained the importance of Aadhaar card and bank account for students during the meeting, which was held at Government Higher Secondary School, Gension 10 March
They informed that the DDSE will shortly facilitate those students, who were left out during the last Aadhaar enrolment, for Aadhaar enrolment, by consulting with the deputy commissioner.
The meeting was attended by students and teachers, PRI members, gaon burahs, School Management Committee members and villagers under Gensi administrative circle.
Meanwhile, DDSE Pakgi Koyu Lombi informed that he had visited the Government Higher Secondary School, Gensi, where an incidence of suicide was reported recently.
“I have inspected the boys’ hostel, which has been destroyed by a mob after the incident,” the DDSE said and added that he will discuss the matter with the government for maintenance of the hostel building.
