ITANAGAR, Mar 14: The two days Regional Rajbhasha Sammelan organized by the All India Radio started here on Wednesday.
Inaugurating the programme, AIR Additional Director General (Admin and Programme), Sailendra Kumar said that Hindi is an inclusive language and appealed to the participants to promote the usage of Hindi in their office and region.
The first day of the conference discussed the various aspect and opportunities of Hindi language and its usage in North Eastern states.
Taking part in the discussion as resource person Professor, Dr A K Pandey, HoD Commerce, DN College said that the North East is the ‘Eshan Konn’ (Luckiest and sacred part) of India, which has preserved its cultural identity in the fast changing world.
He said the way the North East, especially how Arunachal Pradesh has accepted Hindi language, is very rarely seen in other non-Hindi speaking states in the country.
He said that Arunachal Pradesh has the highest number of Hindi students in colleges and universities in the entire NE region, adding that Hindi has been playing a vital role in connecting people belonging to more than 100 tribes and sub-tribes in the state.
Joint Director, Rajbhasha, Satya Prakash and Mitali Chetarjee, DDG AIR Guwahati, also addressed the session.
Representatives from all the AIR stations in North East attended the event. This year, AIR Itanagar is hosting the annual event.
