TARASSO, Mar 15: Twenty-four women underwent sterilization surgery during a sterilization camp organized by the District Health Society of Papum Pare at Tarasso PHC on 14 March.
Papum Pare Deputy Commissioner Tai Kaye, who inaugurated the camp, highlighted the importance of family planning and birth control in view of the growing population.
He also highlighted the effects of population growth on economy, health and education, and suggested all eligible couples to adopt small family norms.
The deputy commissioner strongly advocated against child marriage and polygamy in the society.
Present in the camp, among others, were DMO Dr Subu Tasso Kampu and DRCHO-cum-CEO Dr Jomnya Ado, DANO Dr Tania Raju, Gynaecologist from TRIHMS, medical officer in-charge of Tarasso PHC.
