ITANAGAR, Mar 26: The All Arunachal Pradesh Border Students’ Union in a representation to the additional joint secretary (home) on Monday demanded ‘immediate reframing of the actual Assam-Arunachal boundary at Upper Jumi village in Kimin circle of Papum Pare district.’
The association claimed that ‘the boundary demarcation as per the DLRSO, EAC Kimin, and other government officials is not valid as per the actual boundary framed earlier.’
It further alleged that LPCs were issued to eight people whose land, according to the official report, comes under reserve forest land. Cancellation of such LPCs was also sought by the chief conservator of forests earlier, it said.
‘The boundary demarcation map given by the government official on LPC declaring Eastern part as Assam is null and void as there are 14 villages, namely, Depo, Tadaj Hapa, Lower Jumi, Sanga Dafla, Bar Sutum, Boda Bosti, Kimin, Basti, Lora-I, II, Belo-I, II Begi Modi and Damke beyond the demarcation which comes under Arunachal Pradesh,’ it said.
Alleging corrupt practices by government officials as the reason behind wrong declaration of the state’s land under the jurisdiction of Assam government, the association sought strict action against those officials who issued LPCs to the eight people.
