AALO, Mar 27: World TB Day was observed across West Siang and Lower Siang districts on 24 March by the West Siang District Health Society under the initiative of District Tuberculosis Officer Dr Karmar Dirchi and his team.
At Liromoba, the day was observed in coordination with the Nehru Yuva Kendra.
Dr Nyage Geyi informed the gathering that such national programmes are launched to eradicate common diseases that affect the people. He exhorted the gaon burahs, ASHAs, anganwadi workers, medical staff and the public to support the medical department during such programmes.
At the district tuberculosis office in Aalo, DSO, DHS Dr J Kato and Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme TC DTC Medical Officer, Dr Tsering Wangmu presented the facts about the causes and remedy of tuberculosis.
Washing soaps, posters, pamphlets and caps were also distributed to participants.
The programme was also attended by the vice principal of the ANM Nursing Training School, Aalo.
At Likabali, Dr J Josam, RNTC, CHC Likabali, and his team installed an SDA stall at Malinithan on the visit of the governor. (DIPRO)
