TEZU, Apr 2: Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Minister Dr Mohesh Chai laid the foundation stone for the Dree ground near Tezu Nallah here in Lohit district on Monday.
He also planted a few saplings in the premises of the festival ground.
The minister urged the people to maintain communal harmony. He hailed the Mishmis of Lohit for their sense of brotherhood and their accommodative nature towards the people of other communities.
Informing the people about the welfare schemes of the state government, Dr Chai said his priority is to bring all-round development to the people.
He assured to provide financial aid from his MLA Local Area Development Fund for construction of security fencing and toilet blocks at the festival ground.
He also assured to direct the departments concerned to provide electricity and water connection there.
Dree Festival Committee general secretary Dr Hage Naku highlighted the contribution of the Apatani community in Tezu in developing the Dree ground. (DIPRO)
