Assn seeks regularization of CTET/APTET qualified SSA teachers

ITANAGAR, Apr 3: The Arunachal Pradesh Teachers Eligibility Test Qualifiers Association (APTETQA) has appealed to the state government to regularize the jobs of 1,500 CTET/APTET qualified in-service SSA teachers in one go.
Addressing media persons at the press club on Tuesday afternoon, APTETQA president Tabi Chader said the government has already announced creation of 1309 teaching and non-teaching posts, of which 1130 posts are only for teaching staff.
“We appeal to the state government that all TGT posts be reserved for TET qualified in-service SSA teachers instead of calling fresh interviews under the Arunachal Pradesh Civil Service,” he said.
Citing the Assam government’s regularizing at least 7,000 TET qualified in-service SSA teachers in May last year under the RTE Act and the National Council of Teachers Act, Chader appealed to the Arunachal government to absorb at least 1,500 APTET qualified teachers.
He further urged the authorities to make all the interviews for vacant contractual posts of TGT (SSA) and PRT centralized under the SPD-cum-director’s office to avoid favouritism.
“On Yoga Day on 21 June last year, the government admitted that there is a shortage of over 1,000 teachers in the state, while there are over 4000 APTET/TET qualified teachers in the state who are unemployed. We therefore urge the government to immediately advertise all the vacant posts to absorb them,” Chader said.
