AALO, Apr 3: A four-day cultural extravaganza – a part of the Mopin festival celebration – began at Gumin Kiin here in West Siang district on Monday.
West Siang Deputy Commissioner Swetika Sachan, who inaugurated the event, said Mopin showcases the rich, age-old values of the Galo culture, and exhorted the young generation to take pride in their culture.
Among other things, the event will feature competitions in traditional and modern songs, folksongs, folklores, etc.
The inaugural day featured the traditional and modern dance competition. Sipu Colony, Sipu Puyi and Upper Colony came first, second and third, respectively, in the competition. (DIPRO)
