Union alleges violation of service rules in promotion of DFOs

ITANAGAR, Apr 12: Claiming that at least 11 divisional forest officers (DFO) have been promoted as additional deputy conservators of forests (ADCF) in violation of the service rules, the All Arunachal Pradesh Border Students’ Union has demanded that the DFOs who do not meet the eligibility criteria be terminated from their jobs.
‘As per the All India Service Act, 1951, and the Indian Forest Service Rules, 1966, only AGMUT cadres are to be posted as ADCF in the notified forest areas of Arunachal Pradesh. However, the current promotion of 11 DFOs as ADCF is gross violation of the laid down rules,’ the union alleged in a representation to the principal chief conservator of forests on Thursday.
The union also demanded immediate posting of cadre officers in the notified forest areas of the state.
