ITANAGAR, Apr 13: Governor BD Mishra on Friday held a videoconference with the deputy commissioners of various districts to take stock of the arrangements being made for conducting the Army’s pre-recruitment training programmes in the districts.
“The DCs have to ensure that the best and the fittest are selected on merit basis, and the selection process has to be transparent and very fair,” he said.
He also took stock of the implementation of central and state government sponsored schemes, and urged the DCs to “iron out any problem coming in the way of development.”
Opining that “there has been some slack in administration and policing, because of which there have been instances where people have tried to take the law into their hands,” the governor called for putting in place an “early information and anticipation mechanism to avert such situations.”
He also informed that around 3000 vacancies of police personnel will be filled district-wise. (PRO)
