PAKKE, May 2: Chief Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh, Satya Gopal inaugurated two units of tourist lodge named ‘Visitors Villa’ during a visit to Pakke Tiger Reserve in East Kameng district on 29 April.
He was accompanied by Sonam Chombay, Secretary to CM, Anirudh Sharan Singh, Commissioner Tax & Excise, Anupam Tangu, OSD to Deputy CM, DC Capital Prince Dhawan and DC East Kameng Gaurav Singh Rajawat.
Later, they were taken for a short trip inside the forests of Pakke and Bear Rescue Centre, followed by screening of “Protecting Paradise” a film based on Pakke and its conservation efforts.
The film has received a lot of appreciation in the just concluded International Wildlife Film Festival in Montana. The film was made by two frontline staffs of Pakke and first of its kind in the country.
The Annual Tiger Estimation and camera trap records were also screened.
The officials were highly appreciative of the activities and efforts being carried out by the Pakke team led by Tana Tapi, DFO Pakke Tiger Reserve.
The following day, the team went for a safari up to Dekoroi Camp where RFO Kime Rambia highlighted some major field difficulties and management issues.
During the safari, barking deer, capped langurs, hornbills and jungle fowls were sighted.
