Assn calls off pen-down strike

ITANAGAR, May 14: The Arunachal Pradesh Child Development Project Officers’ Welfare Association has called off its one-day pen down strike which had been scheduled for 17 May, after receiving assurances from the women & child development director.
The association said that the director gave assurance on Monday that the grievances of the officers and staffers of the department would be placed before the competent authority in order to bring the issues to a logical conclusion at the earliest.
The association had announced the strike following the failure to release fund for salaries of officers and ministerial staff, besides honorariums of anganwadi workers and helpers, OE, IEC, POL, and such.
