ITANAGAR, Jun 12: A delegation of the Consumer Right Organization – Arunachal Pradesh (CRO-AP), headed by its president Achu Bagang met Governor BD Mishra at Raj Bhavan here on Tuesday and sought his support in imparting awareness on consumer rights in the state.
Commending the organization’s efforts in this area, the governor advised the team to also conduct awareness campaigns on cleanliness.
He encouraged the CRO-AP to work compassionately, and emphasized on focusing on the education and health sectors besides imparting awareness on environmental issues, such as reckless earth-cutting and diversion of rivers.
The CRO-AP team also raised the issue of enactment of the Rent Control Act in the state, especially in the capital complex, to safeguard the rights of both tenants and landlords.
It also apprised the governor of unregulated prices of commodities in the capital, and appealed for necessary steps to control such malpractices.
