ITANAGAR, Jun 19: The Sanskar Bharati Arunachal Pradesh (SBAP) celebrated its 15th foundation day on 18 June at the Dorjee Khandu State Convention Centre here and honoured renowned singer Bengia Hemanta for his outstanding contribution to the arts and culture of Arunachal Pradesh.
Civil Supply Parliamentary Secretary Tage Taki, who attended the event commended the Sanskar Bharati for promoting the cultural heritage of the state and the country while also providing a platform to budding artistes of the society.
All India assistant organising secretary of Sanskar Bharati, Amir Chand, made a PowerPoint presentation on the upcoming Kumbh Mela, while SBAP president Tony Koyu announced the new executive body for the 2018-2021 session.
Apart from performances by national award winner Delong Padung and singers Hemanta and Yapi Kodak, colourful cultural presentations were made by artistes of the SBAP, and students of Hornbill School, Itanagar, Karpuk Karduk Music Academy, Pasighat, Nritangan Music Academy, Itanagar, C Sector Middle School, Itanagar, and Kargu Gamgi Itanagar. The Yamek Mije Taggu Group presented the Ponung dance of the Adi tribe.
