ITANAGAR, Jul 9: In a tragic incident of fratricide, one Jarjum Lollen (29), son of IAS officer Huzar Lollen, reportedly shot dead his brother Jarli Lollen during an argument.
The incident occurred at Bogdo village in West Siang HQ Aalo, informed police.
West Siang SP Jummar Basar said the incident occurred at around 2 am on Monday, following a heated argument between Jarjum and his elder brother Jarli. The accused reportedly used his father’s licensed .22 rifle in committing the crime.
“The bullet hit the victim on the left side of the chest, and he succumbed to his injury before he could be taken to the hospital,” the SP said.
The police arrested Jarjum on Monday morning, and a case has been registered at the Aalo police station. The weapon used by the accused has also been confiscated, the police said, adding that the postmortem was conducted on Monday itself and the body of the deceased has been handed over to the parents.
