Textbooks to reach districts soon: Min

HAPOLI, Jul 27: Education Minister Honchun Ngandam said school textbooks have already been distributed and will reach the districts soon.
The minister said this during a ‘career orientation and motivational talks’ programme for the students of Ziro valley, organized by the International Chamber for Service Industry (ICSI), in collaboration with the education department, at Mihin Bagang Govt Secondary School here on Thursday.
Ngandam encouraged the students to avail of the benefits of schemes like the Chief Minister’s Vidhya Scheme, and asked the school authorities to assist the students in getting such benefits. He also advised the students to preserve their tradition, culture and language.
ICSI director Gulshan Sharma advised the students to have a positive attitude and self-confidence, and to explore their hidden talents and skills. He also advised school authorities and teachers to ensure a “conducive and pleasant atmosphere for the students.”
Ziro ADC Nending Chatung, described teachers, students and parents as “three pillars of education,” and urged them to make coordinated efforts to maintain congenial atmosphere in schools.
DDSE Hibu Tama and retired engineer Khoda Gyati also spoke.
