PALIN, Aug 13: The first inter-club Independence Cup Badminton Tournament of Kra Daadi District began at the indoor hall here on Monday.
The inaugural match in the men’s double category was won by the pair of Kipa Karo and Takar Tachu. They defeated the duo of Charu Harak and Biri Tako.
In the women’s doubles event, the pair of Byabang Limu and Goda Siku defeated Takam Sami and Biri Yayum Gimi.
Earlier, Jamin PWD Division EE Byabang Tugu, who inaugurated the tournament, emphasized the need for good indoor sports facilities in the district. He advised the management committee of the indoor hall to explore the possibility for construction of and additional badminton court.
