JOLLANG, Sep 3: CRC Polo Colony, Naharlagun, lifted the first Immanuel Football Tournament (IFT-2018), defeating CRC Banderdewa FC 5-2 in the final at the general ground here on 2 September.
The score remained 1-1 at the first half. CRC Polo Colony stepped up their game in the second half and pumped four goals in quick succession. In response, CRC Banderdewa FC could add just another goal.
The winners were awarded cash prize of Rs 30,000 along with the coveted trophy, individual medals and certificates, while the runner-up was given Rs 20,000 with certificates and medals.
Phassang Tama of CRC Banderdewa was declared the best player, while Tolum Pinku of CRC Polo Colony became the highest scorer.
Anu Phassang of CRC Polo Colony was declared the best goalkeeper, and Heri Peter of CRC Polo Colony was declared the best defender of the tournament.
The individual award winners were given away cash prizes, citations and mementoes.
The ‘best disciplined team’ award went to New Life Bible College FC, Dobam.
Entrepreneur and social activist Bamang Raman, who witnessed the final match along with a host of dignitaries, emphasized on building one’s career with disciplined approach and dedication.
The final match was witnessed by, among others, Arunachal Pradesh Football Association general secretary Kipa Ajay, RGU Joint Registrar Dr David Pertin, APCRCC president Rev Nyakdo Tasar, vice-president evangelist Paul Thokwang Rakho, other church leaders and members of various football associations.
