CCFC trounce FC Doimukh by 2-1 in opener
NAHARLAGUN, Sep 22: Capital Complex Football Club (CCFC) defeated FC Doimukh by 2-1 goals in the first match of the 7th Eagle Football Championship tournament which began at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium here on Saturday.
Early on in the match, FC Doimukh took the lead in the first minute with the help of Teli Tangum’s brilliant goal. But CCFC responded well and equalized in the 19th minute with Karli Ngomdir scoring from close range to put his team on level.
Later, in the second half, Vivek Gurung of CCFC scored the winning goal for his team in the 53rd minute.
MoS for Home Kiren Rijiju and Yachuli MLA Likha Saaya also witnessed the inaugural match.
Sunday’s matches: APP vs Banderdewa FC at 12:30 pm; BTFC vs DCFC at 2:30 pm.
