Villagers benefit from health camp

BALIJAN, Sep 22: As many as 820 patients from various villages in Balijan and Tarasso circles of Papum Pare district benefited from a health camp organised here on Saturday by the VKV Alumni Association (VKVAA), Arunachal Pradesh.
The camp was held to commemorate 40 years of the VKVs in the state. It was conducted at the community health centre here by VKV alumni comprising specialists in various health disciplines, and was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Dr Joram Beda, who is himself a VKV alumnus.
The specialists belonging to disciplines ranging from medicine to cardiology, surgery, ENT, paediatrics, obstetrics, gynaecology, dental, dermatology, ophthalmology, and public health rendered their services to the needy in the form of free counselling, diagnoses, and treatment.
Eighty spectacles, sponsored by the organisers of the camp, were distributed free of cost to beneficiaries.
Required referrals were also made for further treatment as per the patients’ requirements.
The Balijan ADC along with executive members of the VKVAA, including its chairman Pritam Taffo and secretary Pelbang Tayeng also attended the camp.
