ITANAGAR, Oct 28: The union science & technology ministry’s biotechnology department organised a series of workshops on assembling and using a foldscope at Dera Natung Govt College (DNGC) and Green Mount School in Itanagar and the government higher secondary school in Ganga from 23-24 October.
Biotech engineer Prof N Prathibha from BMS College of Engineering, Bengalaru, and Dr PM Singh of DNGC were the resource persons.
A foldscope is an optical microscope that can be assembled from simple components, including a sheet of paper and a lens. It was developed by Indian-born scientist Manu Prakash, who is a professor of bioengineering at Stanford University in the USA.
