PASIGHAT, Nov 8: One Kokong Tamuk of Pangi village in Siang district on Tuesday saved six persons from drowning in the Siang river.
Tamuk, a bank employee, was returning along with five others on a motorboat, after attending the funeral service of the gaon burah of Pangi village. He was heading to West Siang HQ Aalo to join service.
Due to a technical problem, the boat was stuck in the middle of the river, and was drifting away in the strong current.
Tamuk jumped into the river, took the rope of the boat, and pulled the boat safely across to the bank.
