ROING, Nov 8: Rajya Sabha Member Mukut Mithi on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for the Bharat Scouts & Guides (BSG) camping park here in Lower Dibang Valley district, in the presence of DC Mitali Namchoom, DDSE Ego Doye, State Organizing Commissioner (Scouts) Prafullo Kalita, and others.
Praising the BSG for instilling discipline in the youths and preparing them for a life of service and community development, the MP assured to provide assistance for the construction of the boundary wall and the tent base for the camp from his MPLAD fund.
Namchoom promised to extend all possible help for the promotion of scouting and guiding activities in the district.
Doye and Mitra also spoke.
Members of Club Bulbul and the BSG presented a cultural programme and a first-aid demonstration. About 400 Club Bulbul and BSG members attended the programme, along with flock leaders, club masters, guide captains and scout masters from different schools of the district.
Prizes were also distributed to the achievers of the district level Club Bulbul Utsav-2018. The prize for overall performance was bagged by Government Upper Primary School, Cheta; the best bulbul prize by Government Secondary School, Mayu, and the best cub prize by Government Upper Primary School, Ezengo.
