RONO HILLS, Nov 9: The state’s first inter-club boxing championship will be held at Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) here from 11 to 14 November.
Boxers from all the seven registered clubs under the Arunachal Amateur Boxing Association (AABA) will participate in the event, being organized by the AABA in collaboration with the RGU’s physical education department, informed AABA vice-president Teli Duli Camdir.
The championship will be held in sub-junior boys, women, and men’s open-to-all categories. There will be four weight categories in the sub-junior boys’ event, three in the women’s event, and four in the men’s open-to-all event.
Around 77 boxers are expected to participate in the event, Camdir said.
Meanwhile, the Chimpu Boxing Club (CBC) has fielded 11 pugilists for the championship, informed the club’s coach Nangram Roman.
Biri Chattum is the manager of the CBC, he said.
