Cultural event marks APP raising day celebration

ITANAGAR, Nov 10: The Arunachal Pradesh Police (APP) along with the APP Welfare Society celebrated the state’s police’s 46th raising day and the special grade promotion of 1,535 constables to head constables with a cultural evening titled ‘Shaam-e-Police’, and other activities at the Dorjee Khandu convention centre here on Friday.
The main attraction of the evening was the performance by Bollywood singer Jasbir Jassi and his band, who presented Bollywood and Punjabi numbers before the huge gathering of dignitaries and police personnel.
Earlier, the evening started with an ‘alankaran samaroh’, in which the promoted constables thanked the state government. It was followed by distribution of rewards to APP personnel who performed their duties with outmost sincerity and dedication.
Other activities included performances by the finalists of the APP’s ‘music talent search’ competition, and presentation of awards to the winners of the recently-held mural painting competition.
The music talent search competitions were conducted throughout the state, and saw participation in two categories – police personnel, and police families.
Among others Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy CM Chowna Mein, Home Minister Kumar Waii, ex-MP Tapir Gao, Chief Secretary Satya Gopal, and DGP SBK Singh attended the programme.
