ITANAGAR, Nov 12: The capital complex unit of the All Arunachal Pradesh Labour Union (AAPLU) has demanded immediate shifting of the high-voltage electric pole from the Dikrong riverbed at the government primary school area in Dikrong Colony.
In a representation to the chief minister, the unit said the power department and the contractor concerned installed the electrical tower on the riverbed instead of at a proper area. It said the department’s negligence led to untoward incidents and caused the death of two children.
The unit further claimed that there is no warning signboard installed by the department or the contractor to caution about the pit in the digging area. It said it has submitted a representation for shifting the electric pole from the area to avert tragic incidents.
