INNAO, Nov 25: The first ever ‘tritiya sopan’ preparatory camp for scouts and guides was organised at the government higher secondary school (GHSS) here in Changlang district from 20 to 24 November.
On the inaugural day, Innao GHSS Principal M Tato, who is also the district assistant commissioner of the Bharat Scouts & Guides (BSG), urged the students of the five participating schools to avail all the benefits of the five-day training camp for their physical and mental development.
Forty-eight scouts and 46 guides from five government schools – Diyun GHSS, Innao GHSS, Gauampur government secondary school (GSS), Sompai GSS and Dumpather GSS – participated along with the five scoutmasters.
Under the instructions of the district training officer and the Innao GHSS principal, activities were designed to make every student independent and disciplined. These included exercises, hiking, and emergency live-saving procedures.
Writing, cultural and other competitions were also organized.
The event culminated with a certificate distribution ceremony presided over by Diyun EAC Jacob Tabing on 24 November.
