Constitute commission

The two incidents of sexual assault have shocked the entire state. In the first case, a warden of Ramakrishna Mission School (RKMS), Narottam Nagar (Deomali) has been alleged of sexually assaulting a six year old child. The accused is currently in judicial custody. In another shocking incident, the head master of Govt Middle School, Niti Vihar, Itanagar has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 14 year old girl. Both the victims are minor and have been outraged by the very people who are supposed to protect them at school. Teachers are often considered next to the parents. They have the trust of parents and society in general. The parents send their children to the school with great hope and belief that the teachers will protect them.
The school campus is considered to be one of the safest places for the children. But if teachers turn into monster and start sexually assaulting children, the parents will have nightmare while sending children to the school. Over the last few years Arunachal Pradesh has been witnessing increasing incidents of sexual assault on children. There is urgent need for constituting the state commission for the welfare of the children. This is a long pending demand of the people. The state government should speed up the process to constitute the commission. The delay in constituting the commission will cause more harm to the effort of making Arunachal safe for the children. In the meanwhile, the entire state will be hoping that Deomali and Itanagar police properly investigates the two cases and give justice to the victims.
