Training on rainwater harvesting & management commences at CHF

PASIGHAT, Nov 28: A five-day capacity building training programme on rainwater harvesting and its management for horticultural crops commended at College of Horticulture and Forestry (CHF), Central Agricultural University, Pasighat in East Siang district Tuesday.
The course aims to upgrade the skill and knowledge on rain water harvesting structures, fresh water resource management, micro-irrigation, their design and construction, soil and water management techniques, importance of soil testing and cultivation package of practices of horticultural crops.
The course director of the training programme is Dr. Saroj Kumar Pattanaaik, Associate Professor, CHF, CAU, Pasighat.
The inaugural programme was chaired by Dean of CHF, CAU Dr. BN Hazarika.
Dr. BK Sethy, Principal Scientist, ICAR, Barapani, engineers of WRD, RWD, DRDA, officers and officials of line departments, the HDO, ADO, subject matter specialists, laboratory and farm Assistants attended the programme.
