ITANAGAR, Dec 1: The ‘Pay Back to Society’ team reached Papum Pare district to motivate, and create awareness amongst youths about careers in the armed forces, here in Yupia under Papum Pare district on 1 December.
Addressing the gathering of students and teachers at the Panchayat conference hall, Indian Air Force Group Captain (Rtd) Mohanto Panging Pao briefed about the objective of ‘Pay Back to Society’ mission organized by the Arunachalee Armed Forces Commissioned Officers under the guidance of Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Dr BD Mishra.
He said “we are here to motivate and to create awareness amongst the youth about career in the armed forces.”
Illustrating the adventurous career in the armed forces, he advised the students to dream big to achieve bigger goals in life.
Indian Navy Sergeant Commander Dr Marak Pertin also informed the students about careers in the Indian Navy and exhorted the young minds to be mentally tough.
First Lady Army Officer from Arunachal Major Ponung Doming also gave a detailed presentation on career options in the Indian Army and competitive exams.
In the interactive session, the officers answered the queries put forward by the students and the teachers.
Students from Don Bosco School, Nonpu, GHSS Doimukh, GHSS Ganga, GHSS Arunodaya, GHSS Kankernallah Naharlagun, GSS RGU and Mani, NIT Yupia, RGU and Bom Kakir Mission School Midpu attended the programme.
At Palin, another team of ‘Pay Back to Society’ visited Kra Daadi district on 29 and 30 November and motivated the students of various schools on nation building and encouraged them to join the armed forces.
The team for the district comprises of Major Tero Keyang of 2 Corps Signal Regt (Aren) and Major TC Tayum of 3/1 Gorkha Rifle.
Students from GHSS Palin, GMS Palin, Don Bosco School Julang and Paney Hemi Public School Palin participated in the interaction programme at the Nyokum Hall here.
The resources person stressed on the importance of the role of the army, navy and air force officers in maintaining national security and integrity of the country.
They informed the students on the procedure involved in joining the armed forces and advised on ways to appear for the National Defence Academy entrance exam and its eligibility criteria, etc. (DIPROs)
