India finishes runner-up as Arunachal contributes lion’s share of medals

16th WKI International Karate Championship

ITANAGAR, Dec 3: Arunachal contributed lion’s share of medals as India won the runners up title at the 16th WKI International Karate Championship, 2018, which was held in Kathmandu, Nepal from 23 to 25 November.
The representatives from Arunachal bagged as many as 31 medals, including nine Gold, 10 Silver and 12 Bronzes.
The championship was held in sub-junior (7 -13 years), cadet, junior and senior categories.
Apart from host Nepal and India, the championship was participated by Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Brunei.
The Indian team was led by All India Wado Kai Karate Do Association chairman Rajesh Agarwal and Arunachal Wado Kai Karate Do Association president Yarda Niki as overall in-charge.
Rakom Dugi was the Head Coach.
