YUPIA, Dec 4:The importance of iodine and the impact of its deficiency was discussed during a programme organized at the ZPC Hall here on Tuesday, to mark the Global Iodine Deficiency Diseases Prevention Day 2018.
During the programme, an informative interaction and salt testing using MBI kits was conducted among the participants.
Speaking on the occasion, Yupia ADC advised the DPO(NIDDCP) Dr. R. R. Ronya to carry out similar informative programs all over the district for more awareness among the people.
Epidemiologist (IDSP), Ili Angu, DMO, DPO, DRCHO, Dr. W. Taku, DVBDCPO, Dr. Tana Aruna and DANO, Dr. Tania Raju were among those who attended the programme.
Later, MBI kits were also distributed amongst all those gathered on the occasion. (DIPRO)
