TAWANG, Dec 5: A special outreach programme on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was organized by the Field Outreach Bureau, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Tawang unit at Shyo village on Wednesday.
Locals were sensitized about segregation of household waste, elimination of manual scavenging, and to adopt modern and scientific waste management system.
Tawang Unit FOB Head, L Dawa requested the villagers to join the mission by maintaining cleanliness in and around their villages and by disposing household waste in a proper and scientific way.
Consultant W/S PHED, Tenzin Phenday said that the PHED is providing three to four solid liquid waste management (SLWM) systems in every gram panchayat to enable the villagers to dispose household waste in a proper and scientific way.
The households are also provided with IHHL in order to stop open defecation, informed Phenday.
