THONGRE, Dec 6: The Bomdila unit of the field outreach bureau organised an awareness rally along with a quiz competition and meetings at Thongre village in West Kameng district on Wednesday as part of its special outreach programme on the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM).
Organized in coordination with the PHED and former panchayat members of Thongre, the programme was aimed at creating awareness among the rural populace about cleanliness.
Rupa PHED JE Tashi Namge Thungon said that, following the construction of individual household latrines, Thongre has been declared an open defecation-free village. He informed that a solid liquid waste management mechanism has also been set up in the village.
