Traditional dress designs must be preserved: Misra

ZIRO, Dec 7: Neelam Misra, wife of Governor BD Mishra, called for preservation and promotion of the traditional dress designs and patterns of Arunachal Pradesh.
“The traditional dress designs and patterns of Arunachal Pradesh are unique, attractive and exclusive, which must be preserved,” she said while interacting with the local weavers of the Apatani plateau during her visit to Ziro, the district headquarters of Lower Subansiri, on 6 December.
She advised them to contribute to the preservation and propagation of the traditional loin looms.
Misra advised them to exhibit their produces in the metros, such as at the Arunachal House in New Delhi, and to use e-commerce in marketing their products, as is practiced by various other states.
She also suggested to them to produce items of daily use, like table mats, curtains, mats, and such. (Raj Bhavan)
