SEPPA, Dec 18: The rural development department on Tuesday convened a meeting here in East Kameng district to chalk out a strategy to converge schemes under the National Rurban Mission (NRuM) to develop the Richukrong-Bana administrative area into a model cluster of villages.
Chaired by DC Gaurav Singh Rajawat, the meeting discussed ways to preserve and nurture the essence of rural community life in the administrative area by focusing on equity and inclusiveness without compromising on the urban amenities and facilities.
Rajawat advised the departments concerned to prepare and incorporate theme-based proposals in the Integrated Cluster Action Plan to create a separate identity of the proposed rurban cluster.
Elaborating the measures and mechanism for conceptualization and dovetailing of schemes which are innovative and beneficial in actual terms for the people of the proposed Richukrong-Bana rurban cluster, the DC urged the stakeholders to extend cooperation for the success of the mission.
DRDA PD Dahey Sangno enumerated the aims and objectives of the mission, its framework and components, funding provision, institutional and organizational setup, step-by-step procedure for initiation of projects, and ways and means of converging centrally and state sponsored schemes under the mission.
Illustrating the procedure for preparation of ICAP and DPR, he stressed the importance of involvement of all members for proper conceptualization of the action plan and the DPR.
