CHIMPU, Dec 20: Sports & Youth Affairs (SA) Minister Dr Chai has assured to look into all the grievances raised by members of Sangey Lhaden Sports Academy (SLSA) and place them before the government for consideration.
Various issues concerning the development of SLSA were discussed during a meeting chaired by Dr Chai in the conference hall of the Sports Authority of Arunachal (SAA) here on Thursday.
During the meeting, which was attended by the sports & youth affairs secretary, the SAA chairman, departmental officers, and coaches and teachers of SLSA, it was decided that the sports department would come up with framed guidelines for admission in SLSA from the 2019-’20 academic session onwards.
Advocating that the state government recognize SLSA as a separate entity for participation in state level sports competitions organised by various state sports associations and the AP school games, it was decided that
instructions in this regard would be passed on to the SAA, the Arunachal Olympics Association, and the secondary education directorate.
The minister was apprised of the need to create posts of PGT and TGT, hostel warden, security guard and MTS (groundsman, sweeper) at the institute as the SLSA has been upgraded from secondary to higher secondary level. The need to post a medical officer, a physiotherapist and paramedical staff at the institute’s infirmary was also raised.
Dr Chai assured to look into all the grievances and place them before the government.
The medal winners of the 17th Junior National Wushu Championship, which was held recently at Namakkal, Tamil Nadu, were felicitated during the meeting.
