KHONSA, Dec 28: The Tirap district level football and volleyball tournaments for the third Hangpan Dada Memorial Trophy (HDMT) concluded at Nehru Stadium here on Friday with distribution of prizes to the winners and the runners-up.
Khonsa West constituency won both the boys’ and girls’ football titles while Borduria-Bogapani constituency won the runners-up titles (in both boys’ and girls’ football).
Khonsa East constituency won the volleyball title in the boys’ section, and Khonsa West constituency in the girls’ section.
The runners-up titles in the boys’ and girls’ volleyball went to Khonsa West and Borduria-Bogapani constituencies, respectively, informed DSO Noah Mongku.
The winners of the tournaments were given Rs 50,000 each with trophies, while the runners-up were given Rs 25,000 each.
There were also prizes for the best players of the tournament in both the sections.
Khonsa West MLA Tirong Aboh, who distributed the prizes, advised the winners, who will represent the district at the state level tournaments, to work hard and maintain their physical fitness.
The district level tournaments had been kicked off by Khonsa East MLA Wanglam Sawin in the presence of Chasen Dada, wife of martyr Hangpan Dada, on 27 December. (DIPRO)
