ITANAGAR, Jan 15: Meenam Goi of Siang district was adjudged the winner of Arunachal Idol Season 3 in the talent show’s grand finale at the DK convention hall here on Monday.
Sonam Kumari from NERIST KV was declared the first runner-up, and Gandhi Naji of Daporijo was adjudged the second runner-up.
Geli Kamki of West Siang and Toangi Agi of Tirap were declared the third and fourth runner-up, respectively.
Goi won a cash prize of Rs 5 lakhs.
Earlier, the grand finale witnessed performances by the previous season’s contestants and winners. Season 3 judges Jelly Kaye, Chochun Dema Thungon and Nokngam Lukhame, along with Indian Idol Season 4 winner Sourabhee Debbarma, also performed.
Congratulating the winners, Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced to allocate Rs 40 lakhs each to the reality shows Arunachal Idol, Arunachal Got Talent, Miss Arunachal, and Mr Arunachal, which were marked as state calendar events last year.
The CM informed that, along with Governor BD Mishra and the youth affairs department, the state government has submitted a proposal to the central government for establishing a “musical school” in the state.
Other guests who attended the event were Miss Northeast Mariam Longri, Miss Arunachal Osin Mosu, Arunachal Idol advisors Gumjum Haider and Nera Techi, and senior artiste Taba Yall Nabam.
