ITANAGAR, Jan 17: Executive members of the Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society (APWWS) visited the office of the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) here and discussed issues related to women and children.
The APWWS members submitted a memorandum highlighting matters such as mushrooming of ‘bar-cum-restaurants’, the alarming rise of flesh trade in the twin capital towns, unisex ‘parlours-cum-spas’, and ways and means to check and control them.
The APWWS members raised concern over repeated assaults on minors and girl children in schools and other places. Discussions were also held on the marriage registration act, and on codification of customary laws.
APSCW Chairperson Radhilu Chai Techi assured to look into the issues and discuss them with the authorities concerned, the APWWS informed in a release on Thursday.
