YUPIA, Jan 25: The Pare Project Downstream Welfare Committee has urged the Papum Pare deputy commissioner to initiate steps for early disbursement of compensation against affected agriculture and horticulture land and the other properties.
In a representation to the DC, the committee said the Pare Hydro Downstream Assessment Committee constituted by the DC has already completed the assessment of vulnerable areas with the NEEPCO.
It also urged the NEEPCO to start anti-erosion work in the vulnerable areas before the onset of the next monsoon.
