BOMDILA, Jan 30: West Kameng Tourism has adopted Shergaon as the model village to promote rural and eco-tourism in the district in a programme held at Shergaon in West Siang district on 28 January, organized to commemorate the National Tourism Day celebration.
Acquainting the locals on the growing tourism industry in the state, the tourism officers reiterated on the need and importance of a clean, well furnished and well maintained traditional home stays.
They said “due care should be taken to promote and propagate one’s culture, tradition and local arts and artifacts.”
Lobsang Tsering, bird tour guide as resource person from BAC Voyages, Tours & Travels, Itanagar, spoke on birding.
Shergaon itself has 149 varieties of bird species. (DIPRO)
