AHMEDABAD, Feb 10: The first batch of customized training programme for around 118 principals and headmasters from schools in Arunachal Pradesh was conducted at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) here in Gujarat from 4-8 February.
On 7 February, an online discussion platform, ‘Samarth Arunachal’, was inaugurated by Arunachal Pradesh education secretary Madhu Rani Teotia. She interacted with the participants during the session over the phone and received instant feedback.
The heads of schools are being exposed to this kind of training for the first time.
Apart from discussing topics such as ‘the role of the principals’, ‘school climate’, ‘teaching-learning strategies’, ‘partnering with parents’, etc, they visited the Gandhi Ashram and the Akshardham temple.
The second batch training will be held from 11 to 15 February.
The training is being held in connection with the ambitious customized training programme for principals and headmasters of government higher secondary schools of Arunachal Pradesh.
Three professors from the IIM here had visited different higher secondary and secondary schools in Arunachal between December 2018 and January 2019 to get firsthand information in order to prepare training modules specific to the needs of the officers of the schools in Arunachal Pradesh.
