BANDERDEWA, Feb 12: Environment & Forests Minister Nabam Rebia on Monday joined the members of the Police Training Centre (PTC) in celebrating Losar festival at the Yangsang Palver Chhorten here in Papum Pare district.
Addressing the gathering, Rebia emphasized on preserving the cultural values of the tribal communities of the state in order to ensure that the tribal identity remains intact.
Lauding the Monpa community for maintaining communal harmony, Rebia said “the rest of the state can learn a lot from them in this regard.”
He assured to provide all the support for the celebration of the festivals of various communities of the state.
Former IMC councillor Tai Tassung lauded the festival celebration committee for inviting people of other communities, saying such gestures promote communal harmony and brotherhood.
Several officers of police department and the PTC, besides public leaders and members of the public attended the festival.
