NAMSAI, Feb 19: State BJP president Tapir Gao has said that the forthcoming assembly election in the state would be a litmus test for the party.
Addressing party workers and leaders at a function here on Tuesday, Gao exhorted them to not sit idle but work for further strengthening the party organization at the grassroots level, “so that the party can win all the assembly and parliamentary seats in the upcoming elections.”
He said Namsai would be the epicentre of the party’s activities for the eastern sector of the state.
Deputy CM Chowna Mein, who was also present at the function, asserted that the BJP would win in all three constituencies of Namsai district, “that too with huge margins.”
He urged the party workers to spread awareness among the public about the welfare schemes implemented by the central and state governments.
District BJP president Chow Sujana Namchoom also spoke.
Namsai MLA Chau Zingnu Namchoom also attended the function.
