ITANAGAR, Mar 6: Nyapin Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kento Riba was reportedly, attacked by some unknown miscreants at Potin highway under Lower Subansiri district on Tuesday last. The miscreants allegedly stopped his vehicle and snatched various official government documents from Riba’s possession apart from his briefcase and a gun.
On Wednesday, a team comprising of Lower Subansiri SP, Yazali Police station officer in charge along with members of NNSPSU visited the site of the incident.
Meanwhile, the Nyapin Nyobia Sangram Phassang Students’ Union (NNSPSU) has in a release on Wednesday strongly condemned the dastardly attack on the officer and said, “the attack on a sincere, dedicated and efficient officer in broad daylight puts a serious question mark on the state of law and order in the district.”
The union further appealed to the authorities concerned to arrest all the culprits involved at the earliest and award them stringent punishment as per the law.
