Taram seeks disqualification of Tassar

NAHARLAGUN, May 3: The NPP candidate for the Koloriang assembly constituency in Kurung Kumey district, Pani Taram, on Friday submitted a representation to the Election Commission of India, seeking disqualification of the candidature of BJP candidate Lokam Tassar.
The representation, a copy of which was made available to the media, states that on 24 March the BJP candidate attacked a sector magistrate in front of the Kurung Kumey district election officer (DEO) when he was performing election duty.
Taram also alleged that Tassar used “muscle power by obstructing genuine voters from reaching the polling booths of Taba and Nampe polling stations to exercise their adult franchise during the re-poll.”
The NPP candidate has also submitted copies of the representation to the chief electoral officer here, and to the Kurung Kumey DEO.
