WSU condemns mob attack

ITANAGAR, Jul 6: The Wancho Students’ Union (WSU) on Saturday condemned the incident where three people from Arunachal were allegedly beaten up by a mob following reports of the accident at Paltan Bazaar, Dibrugarh in Assam on 4 July where a motorbike was hit by a sedan (Swift Dzire) bearing an Arunachal registration plate.
In a press release, the WSU said that “a mob started searching Arunachalis in nearby hotels and lodges and beat up one Akai Wangpan, Wanglam Lukham and Reyi Kato from Longding district in Arunachal, who had gone to Dibrugarh for medical treatment and business purposes.”
Expressing deep pain over the incident, WSU president Pongngoi Joham appealed to the Assam government to take appropriate action against the culprits to maintain peace and harmony between the two states.
