Get board members from outside the state

Dear Editor,
The APPSC is conducting interviews for posts of assistant professors, and it is a welcome step on their part that the members of the interview board were from outside the state.
The commission should follow the same step for selecting members of the interview board for the posts of PGT. This would clear the air of bias which many feel would arise if the interview members comprise any APST member. There have always been complaints that the interview members were from certain tribe(s) and hence a majority of the selected candidates were also from that tribe. Therefore, the commission should invite learned non-APST intellectuals from outside the state as board members.
Secondly, the certificates of all the selected candidates must be thoroughly authenticated. Many fake degree holders may show up on the selected list, which is not at all encouraging for genuine students. In 2018, even the then education minister of Assam had raised this issue. The commission should take the help of the Assam Police which have in recent years unearthed many such cases.
Sincerely,
An aspirant
